Cease Animal Torture (CAT) advocates the liberation and ethical treatment of all animals.

As a collective:
We promote veganism and direct action as effective ways of working toward animal equality.

We oppose factory farms, fur and skin production, animals in entertainment, vivisection, and all other forms of speciesism.

We encourage the students of California State University Long Beach (and people everywhere) to see animals as living beings and not products.

Cease Animal Torture (CAT) was founded in Spring 2008 at California State University Long Beach. CAT formed to promote animal liberation and veganism on campus, where no visible or official organization existed. CAT holds events on campus and supports local actions in the Long Beach and Los Angeles area. We organize an annual conference on campus every April called the Animal Liberation Forum (more information here).
